Andrew N Liveris Building Modlar The andrew n. liveris building is uq's newest facility, and the new heart of chemical engineering. it will support researchers and students to address sustai. The design informs a specific pedagogical approach; learning and research through industry focused solutions. overlooked by learning spaces and informal student areas, the design places the pilot hall at the centre of the building, increasing the connectivity between learning and research.

Designed around key pedestrian movements, the building improves circulation across the campus. the northern side of the andrew n. liveris building features an outdoor campus room, incorporating student breakout areas for learning activities. Designed in collaboration with lyons, the building is the new home for the school of chemical engineering. head of school, professor justin cooper white, recorded a series of videos following the project through the stages of construction from start to finish. Delivered in partnership with lyons architecture and m3 architecture, this 12 storey building is intrinsically linked by a central atrium and vertical learning laboratory. a combined building plant and laboratory flue roof space is located on the top floor of the building.

The building addresses the wider engineering precinct, connecting the two thoroughfares of the precinct via the plaza and arcade, improving campus connectivity whilst providing an urban plaza. Lyons m3architecture won the competition to design the new andrew n. liveris building, which includes significant space assigned for the school of chemical engineering. The vertical form of the liveris building takes cues from both campus forerunners, resulting in an urban strategy that occupies only half of the site proposed for use by the competition.
