Like any ai, as more universities have engaged with more students, chatbots have grown smarter and gotten better at building the kinds of relationships that have proved critical in driving retention, reducing summer melt and improving graduation rates at universities that implement them effectively. This study thus investigates ai chatbots’ effectiveness in enhancing learning outcome and engagement, using a quasi experimental design with three null hypotheses. participants included 90 and 96 higher education students in experimental and control groups, respectively.
