Health equity initiatives are everywhere these days – but which ones actually work? after looking at dozens of programs across the country, i’ve found that the most effective initiatives share common threads: they address root causes, engage communities directly, and meet people where they’re at.

In this article, we explore five significant global health equity initiatives that are making a notable impact, detailing their strategies, successes, and the challenges they encounter. health equity represents a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of public health efforts globally. Each component of the roadmap focuses on specific activities to advance health equity such as diagnosing root causes of health inequities, designing a care delivery transformation, or creating a payment model to support an equity focused care transformation. By bringing together and enlisting the efforts of the public and private sectors, professions and communities that have both a stake and an influence on social determinants of health, hei advocates for improving conditions and achieving equity in health for all.
