Active Scotland Outcomes Framework Health Inequalities The scottish government’s active scotland outcomes framework is underpinned by equality. the six outcomes focus on people and their communities, encouraging and enabling the inactive to be active and helping those already active to stay active throughout their lives. The active scotland outcomes framework sets out the shared vision and goals which have shaped the approach the scottish government and a wide range of partner organisations have taken to supporting and enabling people in scotland to be more physically active.

The team brings together socio economic and public health expertise and experience from within and outside government to inform the action and collaboration needed to improve health and reduce inequalities – an ambition that remains as urgent as ever. This report, initiated and funded by the health foundation, describes trends in health inequalities, with a central focus on timing and causes of death and health and wellbeing outcomes, alongside health related behaviours and health and social care services (domains shown in figure 0.1 in blue).

We have looked at evidence to learn where we should target actions that are achievable, realistic and will have a positive impact. we now want to know what you think of these equality outcomes, especially if this may have a direct impact on you, your family or someone you care for. The scottish government’s active scotland outcomes framework sets out the government’s ambitions for sport and physical activity. the framework is supported by scotland's physical activity delivery plan, a more active scotland, launched in july 2018. This report presents an analysis of equality data across the indicators from the active scotland outcomes framework. it provides a baseline from which progress can be monitored and highlights where evidence gaps exist.
