It’s just as the name implies, they are micro sized braids installed on natural hair. no bulk braiding hair or extension hair is used. it’s a protective style and can be used to help with length retention & growth. you also have the freedom to wash & deep condition your hair while the braids are in. Mini braids, also known as micro braids, are a versatile and stylish protective hairstyle for anyone looking for a unique and intricate look. these tiny, delicate braids are thinner than traditional braids and are often customized to achieve a highly detailed and textured finish. So i’m dividing off a small section of hair on the left side of my head, towards the hairline and i’m going to braid this into a regular three strand braid. i’m going to cross the side strands under the middle strand alternating between the left and right side strands. If you want micro braids but don’t want to do your entire head, the below video shows an effective way to braid the perimeter of your hair and leave the center of your hair in cornrows. 🤚🏾 heads up: with this approach, be prepared to keep your hair in a ponytail of some sort.
