About 2018 Igem Org In january 2012 the igem foundation was spun out of mit as an independent non profit organization located in cambridge, massachusetts, usa. the igem foundation supports scientific research and education through operating the igem competition. This year more than 300 teams from over 40 different countries spent the summer combining wet lab experimental work with modelling and human practices to deliver on their project goals, before convening in boston to present their data to over 3000 people and be judged on their performance.
