A Small Central Storage R Satisfactorygame Any advice on building a central storage? i've just about unlocked everything, up to tier 6, and i've got little outposts all over. is the best way to do this just a horseshoe of containers with smart splitters?. The out put of each goes into a single industrial storage than overflows into a sink. if i want to make a storage area somewhere, what’s the best way to get all this back to it and what sort of storage area.

A Small Central Storage R Satisfactorygame I'm trying out the no bus life and building a separate factory for each item in the game. i would still really like to have a central storage. According to the official wiki, there are only 132 items in total in the game (seems like more). my idea (unoriginal, i know) was to create a centralized storage facility using belts and 132 sets of stacked isc's. The use of "centralized storage" has its pros and cons and has been debated multiple times, but the method used by each pioneer is up to them. for an example, in update 3, i used a "mini storage" as shown in this image (see description). My view is that a centralized storage is nice for personal building materials, but not for factory to factory distribution. if you force everything through a central location it'll either bottleneck with the number of belts that you have, or it'll have to bloat to handle the throughput.

At one point i started setting up something that i’d intended to be a functional storage space, but only ever fed 4 items into it that i’d frequently dip into for my inventory, like concrete and plates. i like the idea of central storage, i’ve just never quite wrapped my brain around how i’d utilize it. My primary goal with central storage is to be able to rapidly stand up a new on demand production for something i might have missed or didn't account for. as far as organization, i use it for the materials i need at any given stage. I have a small idea in my head that i’ve been contemplating but have been hesitant to do. i’d like to make main base where i store everything of every type of item in one place. After every step, a series of smart splitters feeds a storage room, the rest of the production, and an overflow sink. if i ever feel like consolidating to a central storage, it'd just be a matter of transporting out of the individual factory storage rooms into that central storage.
