Glen Urquhart School 2026 Profile Beverly Ma Every year, 8th grade humanities students create a unique, individual, map of the world. they revisit key elements of geography, building on knowledge from their 6th grade social studies classes, before beginning to work on this map, which is completed in three stages over several weeks. World maps! 8th graders in mr. bartsch’s humanities class are tasked with creating individual world maps to scale, and labeling them! #thisisgus #guskids.

This sheet allows students to fill in the continents and oceans of the world by matching them to their assigned number on the map. this activity is great for a warm up activity, a class activity, a quiz or assessment, or an emergency sub plan. Meanwhile, eighth graders, whose theme is “where do i live where am i going?”, are finalizing their world map projects — an annual favorite in 8th grade humanities that challenges students to consider their place in the world. Gus is an independent, progressive day school in beverly farms, ma for students in pre k through grade eight.
