60 Rd Schmeisser 100 Rd Beta Mag Review
60 Rd Schmeisser 100 Rd Beta Mag Review Youtube Subscribed 128 8.7k views 5 years ago my review of the 60 round schmeiser magazine and the 100 round beta mag more. Like most modern ar 15 magazines, schmeisser made use of lightweight but durable polymer to construct the magazine. keeping with the theme of modernity, the magazine is even windowed with round counters allowing you to visually keep track of your ammunition from 30 to 60 rounds.
Review Schmeisser S60w Ar Mag A unique dual follower system accomplishes the “magic” of feeding 60 rounds into your firearm. unloaded, as weighed with my bargain precision equipment, the magazine is 9.3 ounces. loaded with 5.56mm 62 grain m855 ammunition, it clocks in at 33.5 ounces, or a little over 2 pounds. With 60 rounds it gives quite a bit of added weight, but nothing compared to those 100 round beta twin snail drum mags. i didn't do any "mag dumps", but 3, 4, and 5 round rapid fire bursts all fed fine, in all of the guns, with both the window and without. While there are a few beta models in testing, they will never see use at the infantry unit level. reliability issues aside, they are just too heavy, bulky, adversely affect weight and balance. you can't carry extras in any meaningful way, at least not compared to standard load out. These are the gen 2 issues of these magazines, and they have supposedly corrected any issues with the first ones. there are videos on you tube showing both full auto, and semi auto mag dumps, without any issues.

I hadn’t had issues with the gen twos each with about 300 rounds through them, but then i take a buddy of mine out shooting and we planned to end our trip with simultaneous 60 round mag dumps. we each got about 4 rounds between stoppages and numerous failure to feed as well as a few double feeds. Imported by american tactical inc. (ati), the schmeisser s60 60 round 5.56mm nato .223 rem. magazine with window is a very ineresting magazine that defensereview (dr) only recently got to handle at shot show 2023, and we liked both how it looked and felt in the hand. Here's the bottom line: i found this magazine to be hilariously unreliable when using steelcase ammunition. it was apparent that this magazine was so far below acceptable functionality that i didn't even bother to shoot up all 500 rounds of the wolf polyformance that i had brought along. let's start from the beginning though. Looking for a reliable way to double your magazine capacity, without coupling 2 magazines together? the ati® schmeisser® s60 ar 15 .223 5.56 60 round magazine is just what you need!.
