2022 National Chemistry Week S Event The Chemistry Of Fabrics Fort worth, tx (october 17, 2022) — the fort worth museum of science and history invites the community to celebrate national chemistry week by learning about the fascinating science of fabric. this year’s chemistry week theme is “fabulous fibers: the chemistry of fabrics!”. But do you know the chemistry behind these incredible materials? fwcd ap chemistry and honors chemistry students will explore the science of textiles with sponsors and partners of the fort worth museum of science and history during national chemistry week, october 19 22. This year’s national chemistry week theme, “fabulous fibers: the chemistry of fabrics,” gave three westminster college professors from different disciplines the opportunity to discuss a common thread—dyed fabric—and chemistry’s presence in it. Each participant will be asked age appropriate questions about the efficacy of dyeing, abrading and water absorbency of fabrics (natural vs. synthetic) and possibly some elementary chemistry of foaming mouths and bloody scars.
