Live Kicking Tvark Live & kicking was a weekly magazine show broadcast every saturday morning, from late september or early october to april and in series 8, it was broadcast from october to september. If you play the following videos back to back, it will give you some idea of what it was like to see the shadows live. when i saw this concert, they were probably still filming the young ones on the weekdays.

1961 Live And Kicking When live & kicking first started, it was fronted by three presenters: andi peters, emma forbes and john barrowman. the trio were accompanied by a computer generated cat named ratz (who appeared on an in show tv screen), and popular comedy duo, trevor & simon (aka trevor neal and simon hickson). Live and kicking was born. realising a lifetime ambition, emma forbes was promoted from her cookery spot, and was joined by andi peters, another presenter liberated from the cbbc broom cupboard. making up the numbers was john barrowman, a square jawed scottish american and west end star. Once live & kicking had become established in series two, it reached its height in popularity during series four, when it was presented by zoë ball and jamie theakston. Trev and simon thankfully remained, while guests from the music world appeared every week. it also debuted future west end star john barrowman, while ai cat head rats was tv's first proper live cgi star. for the very first show take that and lulu appeared showing that the programme meant business. A cd rom computer game called live and kicking: showmaker was also released, where the user could combine elements of the show to create their own television production on a small scale.
